Science magazine - kagakuzasshi

Japanese: 科学雑誌 - かがくざっし

In the narrow sense, it is the main medium for the presentation of scientific research results, usually a periodical published in type, with a publishing body such as an academic society, and to which contributions are subscribed by members of the society (scientific periodical or scientific journal). In the broad sense, it includes commercial magazines that mainly feature scientific articles. In the era of manuscripts before the widespread use of printing, academic research was presented mainly in the form of annotations on classical manuscripts such as the writings of Aristotle.

狭義には，科学研究成果の主たる発表メディアであって，ふつう活字印刷された定期刊行物で，学会などの刊行母体をもち，学会員によって投稿を購読されるもの(scientific periodicalまたはscientific journal)。広義には，科学記事を中心とする商業雑誌scientific magazineを含む。　印刷が普及する以前の写本時代には，学問研究発表は主としてアリストテレスの著述のような古典の写本への注釈の形で行われていた。
