Located in northwest Saitama Prefecture, between Fukaya City and Honjo City, this old town in Oosato District is spread out on the plateau on the north bank of the Arakawa River. Rice, livestock and vegetables are cultivated, and daikon radishes are especially popular, shipped to Tokyo as pickled radishes. The town is connected by the Takasaki Line and National Route 17. In January 2006, it was incorporated into Fukaya City along with Hanazono Town and Kawamoto Town in Oosato District. Area: 30.59 km2 .
