It is a type of work that includes Kabuki, Ningyo-joruri, and kodan. It is a dramatization of the family feud of the Ogasawara clan of the Kokura domain in Buzen. In Kabuki, the play Koimomiji Ogura Shikishi (Dark Autumn Leaves, Ogura Shikishi) by Nakagawa Seisuke was first performed at the Asao Tokusaburo-za Theater in Osaka in 1816 (Bunka 13). It is famous for being a big hit with the second Arashi Kichisaburo. It depicts the exploits of the Inugami Hyogo gang, who are plotting to take over the Ogasawara clan, and the loyal retainer Sasahara Hayato, who is protected by the white fox, and is known as a play that plays a dramatic role with the white fox at its core. In October 1881, Katsunō Susumu and his son Genzō wrote Ogasawara-ryu Yorei no Okunote (Ogasawara-style Proprieties, Loyalty and Filial Piety) based on the storytelling and performed it at the Ebisu-za Theater in Osaka. 歌舞伎,人形浄瑠璃,講談の作品の一系統。豊前小倉藩の小笠原家の御家騒動を脚色したもの。歌舞伎では奈河晴助作《濃紅葉小倉色紙(こいもみじおぐらしきし)》が1816年(文化13)に大坂浅尾徳三郎座(中の芝居)で上演されたのが最初。2世嵐吉三郎の大当りが著名。小笠原家乗っとりの陰謀をめぐらす犬上兵庫一味と白狐の加護を得た忠臣笹原隼人らの活躍を描いているが,白狐がはたらくケレン芝居として知られている。81年10月に勝能進・諺蔵父子が講談から取材して《小笠原流礼忠孝(おがさわらしよれいのおくのて)》を作って大阪戎座で上演した。
