Kennedy, RF

...The family of JF Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States. During the Irish famine of the 1840s, his grandfather Patrick J. Kennedy immigrated to Boston with his great-grandfather and became a successful bar owner. He entered Boston politics with the backing of Irish immigrant votes. His father Joseph Patrick Kennedy (1888-1969) was a successful banker and businessman, married the daughter of the Boston mayor, made a name for himself in the film industry, supported FD Roosevelt in the 1932 election, and served as ambassador to the UK from 1937 to 1940.
