Vocalist Mick Jagger (1943- ), guitarist Keith Richards (1943- ), Brian Jones (1942-69) and other young people who loved rhythm and blues came together in 1962 after coming into contact with guitarist Alexis Korner, who was the first British musician to play blues. They named the group after the song "Rolling Stone" by blues singer Muddy Waters. When they started releasing records in 1963, the members were Jagger, Richards, Jones, bassist Bill Wyman (1936- ), and drummer Charlie Watts (1941- ). …
