Mr. Asahi - Asahiuji

Japanese: 朝日氏 - あさひうじ

A medieval samurai family. (1) A clan of the Ono clan of the Seiwa Genji clan whose main territory was Ono Manor in Chita County, Owari Province. It began when Yorikiyo, the judge deputy of Hachijo-in, called himself "Asahi judge deputy." Yorikiyo and his son Yorishige were defending the Kiso River ferry on the side of Kyoto during the Jokyu War, but were killed and several of their main territories in Owari Province were confiscated. However, the line of Yorikiyo's younger brother Yoritoki seems to have maintained their status as vassals, and in 1303 (Kagen 1), Yoritoki's grandson Chikayori was ordered by the Rokuhara Tandai to investigate the dispute over Ajiki Manor in the same province.

中世の武家。(1)尾張国知多郡大野荘を本領とする清和源氏大野氏の一族。八条院判官代頼清が〈朝日判官代〉と称したのにはじまる。頼清とその子頼重は，承久の乱で京方として木曾川の渡しを防衛していたが討たれ，尾張国の本領数ヵ所を没収された。しかし頼重の弟頼時の系統が御家人としての地位を維持したとみえ，1303年(嘉元1)には頼時の孫親頼が同国安食（あじき）荘の相論に関して六波羅探題より現地調査を命ぜられている。
