A collection of satirical letters in Latin. Sometimes translated as "Letters of the Fool." Published in Germany in the early 16th century. The author is anonymous, but is thought to have been Crotus Rubianus (real name Johannes Jäger, c. 1480-c. 1545), a student at the University of Erfurt, or Hutten. The impetus for the writing of these letters was the persecution of Jews by the converted Jew Johannes Pfefferkorn (1469-1522/23) and his conflict with the humanist Reuchlin, who sought to preserve Jewish studies and research into ancient documents from an academic standpoint.

ラテン語の風刺書簡集。《愚者の手紙》と訳されることもある。16世紀初めドイツで出版された。作者は匿名であるが，だいたいエルフルト大学の学徒クロトゥス･ルビアヌスCrotus Rubianus(本名イェーガーJohannes Jäger,1480ころ‐1545ころ)やフッテンらと考えられる。その機縁をなしたのは，改宗ユダヤ人フェッファーコルンJohannes Pfefferkorn(1469‐1522か23)のユダヤ教徒迫害と，これに対抗して学問的な見地からユダヤ教学の保全と古文書研究をまもろうとした人文主義者ロイヒリンとの抗争であった。
