Barium mineral - Barium nut (English spelling)
A mineral that contains barium as its main chemical component. It occurs as special hydroxide minerals, salt minerals such as carbonates and sulfates, and silicate minerals. Minerals other than silicates are formed by hydrothermal action and hot spring action. As a hydroxide mineral, it is contained in romanechite BaMn 2+ Mn 4+ 8 O 16 (OH) 4. In addition, witherite BaCO 3 as a carbonate and barite BaSO 4 as a sulfate are known, and are important raw materials for barium.
