Hystera

Japanese: hystera
Hystera

... Representative malignant tumors include cervical cancer and uterine cancer (endometrial cancer). [Hisao Fujita] [Yoshiharu Tsukahara]
[Cultural History of the Womb]
Aristotle believed that the uterus was divided into two parts, extending to the left and right like a fork, and called this part hystera or delphys. This is because many mammals have a double uterus, a septate uterus, or a bicornuate uterus, and the single uterus of primates, including humans, has a similar shape if the fallopian tubes are included.
