Therefore, maintaining and observing traffic order, cooperating with other vehicles, and having the necessary knowledge and driving skills are required, and in many countries around the world, a driver's license is mandatory to drive a car on the road. In Japan, as stipulated by the Road Traffic Act, depending on the type of vehicle, there are large licenses (20 years old or older, except for large vehicles with a total vehicle weight of 11 tons or more and dump trucks, 21 years old or older), regular licenses, large special licenses (all 18 years old or older), two-wheel licenses, small special licenses, moped (motorized bicycle) licenses (all 16 years old or older), and towing licenses (18 years old or older) (all of these are Type 1 driver's licenses), and a provisional license (valid for 3 months) is required to practice driving on the road to obtain these licenses. …
