Hawaii Times

Japanese: 《Hawaii Times》(英語表記)HawaiiTimes
Hawaii Times

...However, Japanese Americans continued their journalistic activities within the camps, publishing several camp newspapers such as the Heart Mountain Sentinel.
[After World War II]
After the war, in San Francisco, Nichibei Jiji, a newspaper of the same lineage as Nichibei, was revived in May 1946, while Hokubei Mainichi, a newspaper of the same lineage as the prewar Shinsekai Asahi (the successor to Shinsekai, founded in 1894), was launched in February 1948. In Los Angeles, the Rafu Shimpo was relaunched, and in Hawaii, where newspaper publication continued even during the war, the Hawaii Times (formerly the Yamato Shimbun, founded in 1895, which renamed Nippu Jiji in 1942) and Hawaii Hochi, founded in 1912, among others, continued to operate, and the world of Japanese-language newspapers was rapidly rebuilt and expanded (the Hawaii Times was later discontinued). In Latin America, several Japanese-language newspapers are published, including Argentina's Akoku Nippo (founded in 1947) and La Plata Hochi (founded in 1948), and Brazil's São Paulo Shimbun (founded in 1945).
