Green, MM (English spelling) GreenMM

[Classical concept of genes]
Meanwhile, J. Belling et al. (1928) and others discovered that pachytene chromosomes have a beaded structure consisting of chromomeres and thread-like parts connecting them, and CB Bridges et al. (1935) discovered that salivary gland chromosomes consist of highly stainable horizontal stripes and less stainable intervening parts, which gave rise to the idea that chromomeres and horizontal stripes correspond to genes. Based on the results of research into the recombination of pseudoalleles and the mechanism of gene mutation, this idea was developed into the "Unified Concept of the Gene" by MM Green et al. (1955), which states that genes are basic units common to the three phenomena of function (i.e., controlling traits), recombination, and mutation. However, when bacteria and viruses appeared as research materials, it became possible to detect recombinant forms at extremely low frequencies that had previously been undetectable.
