Masayasu Tomatsu

Year of birth: September 13, 1849 (October 28, 1849)
A freedom and civil rights activist in the Meiji period. Born in Shimodate Castle, Hitachi Province (Ibaraki Prefecture). He participated in the formation of the Liberal Party in 1881, and soon leaned towards the radical faction that aimed to overthrow the government, playing a leading role in the Kabasan Incident in September 1884.
