(Figure) Frontal bone (os frontale [Latin]) The frontal bone is the part of the neurocranium that forms the frontal region. It is a single bone, but in fetuses it develops as a pair of bones, one on the left and one on the right, which fuse together after birth. In adults, the frontal bone is sometimes divided into two halves by a suture down the midline.
