Shamisen player of Tokiwazu, Tomimoto and Kiyomoto. (1) First (1738-94? ∥ Genbun 3-Kansei 6?) A blind man from Kazusa. Called Sato no Ichi. At the age of 17, he studied under the first Tobaya San'emon in Edo. He learned shamisen and became the Satocho, and in 1781 (Tenmei 1) he played the supporting shamisen for Tomimoto Toyosaki (Takesaki) Tayu (the leading shamisen was Namizaki Tokuji). In 1783, he became the shamisen player for the first Tokiwazu Kanetayu, and at the same time, Sato Katsura, Hyosuke and others from his school also entered Tokiwazu. In addition to composing "Kodakara Sanbaso" and other works, he collaborated with the second Kishizawa Shikisa on "Seki no Tobira", "Koyamauba" and "Moriga". 常磐津,富本,清元の三味線方。(1)初世(1738‐94?∥元文3‐寛政6?) 上総出身の盲人。里の都(いち)と称す。17歳で江戸の初世鳥羽屋三右衛門に師事。三味線を学んで里長と名のり,1781年(天明1)富本豊前(武前)太夫の脇三味線(立三味線は名見崎徳治)を勤める。83年初世常磐津兼太夫の三味線方となり,同時に一門の里桂,兵助らも常磐津に入る。《子宝三番叟》などの作曲のほか2世岸沢式佐との合作に《関の扉》《古山姥》《戻駕》などがある。
