Year of death: June 7, 1406 (June 22, 1406) Year of birth: Year of birth unknown. A military commander in the Muromachi period. Son of Norimitsu. Hyobu Shoyu, Uma no Kami, and Sakyo no Daifu. In 1387 (Kakei 1/Genchu 4), after his father's death, he succeeded the governorship of both Wakasa (Fukui Prefecture) and Mikawa (Aichi Prefecture), and later also served as governor of Chita and Kaito counties in Owari (Aichi Prefecture). Served as Samurai-dokoro Tojin twice. In the Meitoku Rebellion in 1389 (Meitoku 2/Genchu 8), when Yamana Ujikiyo rebelled against the shogunate, he and his son Mitsunori were credited with taking Ujikiyo's head, and he himself was given the governorship of Imafuna in Wakasa Province, which included Obama, among the Yamana territories, while Mitsunori was given the governorship of Tango (Kyoto Prefecture). From 1389 onwards, he welcomed Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu to Amanohashidate (Miyazu City) and Obama three times, and in 1395 (Oei 2), he followed Yoshimitsu and became a monk, taking the name Nobumasa. After his death, he is believed to have been buried at Owari Chokeiji Temple (the former site is in Chita City).
