[Federal Constitution]
The Constitution of the United States of America, which constitutes the basic framework of American politics, is also called the Federal Constitution in contrast to the State Constitutions of each state, and is the oldest and longest-lived written constitution in the world. In the second half of the 18th century, the British colonies in the Americas came to believe, through conflicts with the mother country, that because the British Constitution was an unwritten constitution, its interpretation was ambiguous and it could easily be changed by legislation of the parliament, and as a result, there was a high risk of threatening the freedoms and rights of the people.
