...A small, biennial rosette plant of the Primulaceae family (illustration). Also called moss primrose. Widely distributed in Southeast Asia, and common in Okinawa in Japan. It grows in grasslands and develops leaves in a rosette shape. It has a petiole and the leaf blade is oval, 5-15 mm long and wide, with triangular blunt teeth on the edge and a shallow heart or wedge-shaped base. In April and May, it grows an upright flower stalk 5-15 cm tall, and bears 1-10 flowers in an umbel at the top. The pedicel is thin, 1-5 cm long, and has bracts at the base. ...
