〘Noun〙 (inau) ⸨Inao ⸩ One of the tools used by the Ainu in religious ceremonies. It is like kezurikake (shaved flowers), made by shaving small branches of willow or other plants with the bark removed and hanging them down like a saihai (baton) . It is offered to the gods in the same way as gohei (sacred wands). *Koropokkuru Rides the Wind (1918) by Yuriko Miyamoto, Volume 7 "Irenkatom offered up long-standing prayers at the sacred Inao (wooden wand) festival site."
