…　新都市建設も盛んで，1930年のストックホルム国際見本市で同市の都市計画の理念である，太陽，空，光，緑を主軸とした機能主義が公表され，脚光を浴びた。その後ファシュターFarsta，ベッリングビーVöllingby，テービーTäby，シャルホルメンSkärholmenなどの近郊衛星都市が次々と建設されて世界の耳目を集め，最近ではハッロンベルイェンHallonbergen(1973竣工)が有名で，公共施設完備のほか，老人ホームも併設され，若者と老人が交流できるように都市計画がなされたが，合理主義，機能主義を強調するあまり人間性に欠けるとの批判がある。
