… The Church first included the seven numbers of the individual sacraments in a conciliar profession of faith at the Second Council of Lyon (1274), which dealt with the issue of union with the Eastern Orthodox Church. They were called in Latin baptisma (baptism), confirmatio (confirmation), paenitentia (conversion), Eucharistia (Communion), ordo (ordination), matrimonium (marriage), and extreme unction (extreme unction). The order of conversion and sacraments was later reversed, a requirement also for union with the Armenian Church (1439). …
