Chronicles of the Ou Eikei War

Japanese: 奥羽永慶軍記 - おううえいけいぐんき

War chronicle. Written in 1698 (Genroku 11) by Tobe Masanao of Yokobori, Ogachi County, Dewa Province. 39 volumes. The title refers to the war chronicles from the Tenbun and Eiroku eras to the Keicho and Genna eras. As the title suggests, it details the rivalry and rise and fall of the warlords of Mutsu and Dewa provinces from the mid-16th century to the beginning of the 17th century. It was compiled "by considering the old records of my predecessors and listening to the direct accounts of the elders," and although it contains some historical errors, it is still worth using as a reference. Included in the "Collection of Historical Documents" and "Series of Sengoku Historical Materials." [Kobayashi Seiji]
