Japanese: インコ(鸚哥) - インコ（英語表記）parakeet

A general term for birds in the Psittacidae family of the order Psittacidae, excluding the large parrots that have crests. They make up the majority of the approximately 320 species in the family Psittacidae, and many species have beautiful feather colors and are good at imitating, so they have long been popular as pet birds. Most species belong to the subfamily Psittinae and the subfamily Psittinae, which are divided into the brook parrots and the brook parrots, and the subfamily Psittinae is divided into the shrikes, cabrioles, sugar cockatoos, cockatoos, and long-legged parakeets.

オウム目オウム科のうち，羽冠をもつ大型のオウム類を除いた鳥の総称。オウム科約320種の大部分を占め，羽色が美しく，ものまねがじょうずな種が多く，古くから飼鳥としても親しまれている。　大半の種はヒインコ(セイガイインコ)亜科とインコ亜科に属し，ヒインコ亜科はヒメインコ類とセイガイインコ(ハケシタインコ)類に，インコ亜科はヒラオインコ類，ロウバシインコ類，サトウチョウ類，カクビインコ類，クサビオインコ類に分けられている。
