Abbreviation for Desk Accessory. Software that is called up from the Apple Menu. Examples include "Calculator." [History] Until KanjiTalk 6.0.7, single-tasking was the norm, and it was valued as a small program that could be run even while using an application. From KanjiTalk 7.1 onwards, dragging and dropping DA into the System Folder automatically installs it into the "Apple Menu" folder and registers it in the Apple Menu. It can be launched by double-clicking the icon with the mouse, and can also be used by taking it out of the "Apple Menu" folder. In the current Mac OS, pseudo-multitasking is the norm, so it is no longer called DA.

Desk Accessoryの略。アップルメニューから呼び出して使うソフトウェア。「計算機」などがある。【歴】漢字Talk 6.0.7までは、シングルタスクが基本で、アプリケーションを使っている最中でも動かせる小さなプログラムとして重宝されていた。漢字Talk 7.1以降は、DAをシステムフォルダーにドラッグ&ドロップすると「アップルメニュー」フォルダーに自動的にインストールされ、アップルメニューに登録される。アイコンをマウスでダブルクリックしても起動でき、「アップルメニュー」フォルダーから出しても使用できる。現在のMac OSでは疑似マルチタスクが基本であるため、とくにDAという呼び方はされていない。
