Coornhert, DV (English spelling) CoornhertDV

...From the 15th to the 16th century, poets' clubs called ``Rederijkerskamer'' were formed in various places, mainly composed of urban citizens. They promoted the democratization of literature through recitation, poetry, and acting classes and theater competitions, and also produced a lot of comedies, religious plays, and morality plays.
[16th to 18th centuries]
As the Renaissance spread to the Netherlands, a movement for the purification and unification of the Dutch language arose along with growing national consciousness, and the Amsterdam-born Dirck V. Coornhert (1522-90), who wrote the humanist "Die Welt" (1586), is celebrated as one of the founders of modern Dutch prose. The Netherlands resisted Spanish tyranny that began in the mid-16th century and achieved independence. In the 17th century, the Netherlands entered its so-called "Golden Age" as the most advanced country in Europe, and academic and literary arts flourished at once, producing great poets and playwrights.
