Kabuki dance. Nagauta. Original title: "Hanabusashishi no Rankyoku." Author unknown. First performed by Kikunojo Segawa I at Ichimuraza in Edo in March 1742 (Kanpo 2). The nickname comes from the phrase "pillow allure" in the lyrics, and it is the oldest surviving "Shakkyomono" piece. However, only the music remains, and the choreography had long disappeared, until Nakamura Utaemon VI revived it with choreography by Fujima Kanjuro VII. In the first half, the dancer dances in the keisei costume holding a hand lion, and in the second half, in the same costume, she takes off her clothes, puts on a peony hat, and goes crazy with the lion. The piece is full of red-light district atmosphere and is a dance performed by female actors. The lyrics and music of "Kagamijishi" (1893), created in the Meiji period, are largely taken from this piece.
