In contrast, the medieval commercial commenda was a type of business contract in medieval commerce, in which the trustor entrusted capital to the trustee, who actually went on a business trip with the capital and made a transaction, and the profits were shared between the two parties. Its origins are said to date back to ancient times, and it was also used by Islamic merchants.
