...The class Gastrotrichum is often treated as the phylum Gastrotrichum. The tiger beetle , Chaetonotus nodicaudus (= Polymerurus nodicaudus ) (illustration), is about 0.3 mm long and 0.036 mm wide. It appears in ponds and swamps in the summer, crawling and gliding on things in the water. Its name comes from its uniform pale orange body color and the way it swims.
