Lime altar - Ishibai no dan

It occupies two rooms at the southern end of the east wing of Seiryoden and two rooms at the eastern end of the south wing of Jijuden in the Heian Palace Palace, and is an area where earth is piled up to the height of the wooden floor and the floor is plastered with lime (plaster). It is also called the Lime Room or the Altar Room. Every morning the Emperor would offer distant worship towards Ise Shrine and the Naishidokoro in the Imperial Palace. On the west side of Seiryoden's lime altar, which continues to the main building, a four seasons folding screen was erected, and the boundary with the Tenjo Room to the south was a wall.

平安宮内裏の清涼殿(せいりょうでん)の東廂(ひがしびさし)南端の2間、および仁寿殿(じじゅうでん)南廂東端の2間を占め、板敷きの床の高さまで土を盛り上げ、床を石灰（漆食(しっくい)）で塗り固めた部分。石灰の間、壇の間ともいう。天皇が毎朝伊勢(いせ)神宮と皇居内の内侍所(ないしどころ)に向かって遙拝(ようはい)を行った。清涼殿の石灰壇は、母屋(もや)に続く西側には四季屏風(びょうぶ)が立てられており、南にある殿上の間との境は壁になっていた。
