There are about 60 species of Japanese crabs of the family Leucobacilliidae, and there are many distinctive species in shallow waters, such as the long-horned leucobacilli (L. anatum) with its protruding forehead, the four-spotted leucobacilli (L. craniolaris) with its conspicuous four spots, and the long-armed leucobacilli (Myra fugax) with its remarkably long claws.
