Sand in the journal Les les mondes, is a masterpiece in which an aged centaur (half man, half horse god) reminisces about his younger days, and sings of the author's own inner drama, torn between a pantheistic tendency to surrender to the rhythm of the universe and a solitary tendency to withdraw into himself.
