A town in Monbetsu District, Hokkaido. Facing the Sea of Okhotsk and Lake Saroma, scallops, oysters, and shrimp are caught, and dairy farming is thriving. Sugar beets, wheat, and asparagus are also produced. Merged with Kamiyubetsu Town, Monbetsu District, in October 2009. 505.79 km2 . 10,041 people (2010).
