Callionymidae

...The names of the other names, such as slimy gochi, nebari gochi in Lake Hamana, and beto gochi in Shinminato, Toyama Prefecture, come from the large amount of mucus that is secreted from the skin, making it slimy. All members of the Callionymidae family live on the sandy and muddy bottoms of coastal areas and feed on small crustaceans and polychaetes. The body is flattened with the head squashed from above and below, and it usually attaches to the seabed, but does not burrow into the sand.
