Japanese:
Collar - Collar

A fixed fishing gear that uses bamboo or wood fences or reeds instead of netting to block the passage of aquatic organisms and guide them into a fence. This fishing gear is often set up in lakes and rivers because it is vulnerable to wind and waves, but it is also set up in shallow areas of inland bays where the wind and waves are calm. There are small fences measuring 2-3 meters in length and large ones measuring up to 1 kilometer in length. When set up in freshwater areas, reeds with meshes of 3 millimeters or less are used to catch shrimp and small sweetfish, while those with meshes of 15 millimeters or more are used to catch carp, crucian carp, eel, etc. In inland bays, horse mackerel, sardines, mackerel, shrimp, etc. are caught. In Japan, the fishing of Lake Biwa is famous. It is popular off the coasts of Southeast Asia, such as the Philippines and Thailand, and targets tuna, bonito, horse mackerel, mackerel, sardines, and sea bream.
