…M. Druon's The Green Finger (1957) follows on from Saint-Exupery, and P. Gripari's Thursday is a play day is a fantastical tale. We also cannot overlook the works of H. Bosco, who sublimated the spirit of the southern French climate to create a unique fantasy.

In Germany, the first folk tales were collected by the JHCompe in 1776, in response to the initiative of JB Basedow. Somewhat later, GA Bürger published The Adventures of Baron Münchhausen (The Tales of Münchhausen), which he revised from RERaspe's work, in 1786. The Romantics who followed Goethe began to collect folk tales.
