Emanuel Hirsch

Born: June 14, 1888 in Bent Bisch
[Died] July 17, 1972. Göttingen German Lutheran theologian. Professor at the University of Göttingen. As a student of K. Holl, he made outstanding achievements in Luther studies. He was also known as a researcher of Kierkegaard, and translated the complete works of Kierkegaard into German. His main works are Kierkegaard-Studien (Studies on Kierkegaard) (3 volumes, 1930-33) and Geschichte der neueren evangelischen Theologie (History of Recent Evangelical Theology) (5 volumes, 49-54).
