A large river in northeastern Spain. It originates in the Cantabrian Mountains and flows southwest, passing through the plains of Aragon and Catalonia before emptying into the Mediterranean Sea. Wheat and grapes are grown along the coast. It is used for irrigation and water transportation, and is the largest hydroelectric power plant in Spain.
