Trade imbalance

Japanese:
Trade imbalance
Also known as a trade imbalance. Refers to an unbalanced state of imports and exports resulting from economic transactions with other countries. It can be viewed as a whole country's trade or as a bilateral trade. The main cause of trade friction is this trade imbalance, and if this state continues for a long time, it will lead to unemployment and recession, and the relationship between the two countries will deteriorate. The imbalance is usually viewed as a deficit or surplus on a customs-cleared basis (export surplus or import surplus based on customs-cleared trade balance) or on an international balance of payments basis (trade balance and current account balance). Japan's trade imbalance has been in surplus since 1981, reaching a peak of $120.9 billion in 1994, but fell to $82.4 billion in 1997. Looking at the trade balance with other countries, the United States and Southeast Asia have a large surplus, making the trade imbalance noticeable, and the other countries are calling for its correction.
