In addition to the aforementioned Baedeker, which is still in existence today as a series of internationally acclaimed travel guides that cover every region of the world, the UK also publishes the Blue Guide (first published in 1918) by James Fullarton Muirhead (1853-1934), who was once in charge of the English version of Baedeker, and which is renowned for its commentary on history and literature.
