Dairbhre

...Population: about 900. Valencia was named by Spanish pirates who used to base themselves here, and in Irish it is called Dairbhre (meaning "oak forest"). In the mid-17th century, O. Cromwell of England, who conquered Ireland, drove out the Spanish and established a garrison here to protect the west coast from plunder.
