An Athenian historian from the late 4th century BC to the early 3rd century BC. Dates of birth and death unknown. The last and most important of the "Attic historians" who wrote about the history and customs of the Attica region. His main work is the 17-volume "History of Attica," which is a chronological account of the period from the earliest period to 261/260 BC. Only 230 fragments remain, but it contains a wealth of valuable information not only about the history of his time, but also about mythology, religion, and rituals.
