Epilogue - Epilogue (English spelling)

Epilogue - Epilogue (English spelling)

It can be translated as "closing speech" or "closing address". It is usually when one of the actors comes on stage at the end of the main story of a play and thanks the audience for watching the play while providing commentary, explanations, previews of the next performance, and sometimes critiques the political and social issues of the time. It is part of the classical theatrical style, which had its roots in Greek tragedy, passed through the Middle Ages, reached its peak during the Restoration of England, and continued until the late 18th century. In the 19th century, it was abolished by the realist theater movement as it was considered unnatural. It is also used in the final chapters of poems and novels, and in music such as opera, and in a broader sense, it can also be used to mean the conclusion of something. It is the opposite of prologue.
