An insect of the Orthoptera family, Tettigoniidae. It is a medium-sized, slender insect with a deep green coloring that lives on grasslands. Males often sing "ji, ji, ji, ji, ji, ji, ji" from afternoon to night, but the call is not very noticeable. It is widely distributed in the Eurasian continent and can be found all over Japan. Body length: 15-18 mm. Forewing length: 20-22 mm, hind femur length: 18-22 mm, ovipositor length: about 6 mm. The head is small, and the compound eyes are not large. The pronotum is also small to match the size of the head. The slender forewings are green, but the chambers between the wing veins are black, so the overall color appears deep green.
