Bijaganita (English spelling)

At the age of 36, he completed a tetralogy of mathematics and astronomy collectively known as the Siddhānta-śiromaṇi. The Lilāvatī and Bījagaṇita are concerned with the two major branches of Indian mathematics, pāṭīgaṇita (mathematics using only known numbers) and bijagaṇita (mathematics using unknown numbers), respectively. The Siddhānta-śiromaṇi in the narrow sense consists of two parts on astronomy: the Gaṇitādhyāya, which focuses on the calculation of the positions of the planets, and the Goladhyāya, which deals primarily with problems in spherical astronomy.
