…Indian Buddhist thinker. His Sanskrit name was Bhāvaviveka or Bhavya. He was a middle Madhyamaka thinker influenced by the Buddhist logician Dignāga. He argued that emptiness should be proven by independent argument, and criticized Buddhapalita of the Madhyamaka school.
