A geography book compiled as a national project during the Ming Dynasty in China. It has 90 volumes. It describes the geography of the entire territory by administrative division, and at the end includes an explanation of the surrounding Asian countries as foreign barbarians. It was completed in 1461 by Li Xian and others, but was actually based on the Huanyu Tongzhi, compiled in 1456. In addition to the first edition published by the government, several private editions were published later, and the edition from the end of the Ming Dynasty contains arbitrarily revised sections on the local government system, etc. These privately revised editions have been reprinted in Korea and Japan. It can be said that the knowledge of Chinese geography held by scholars in the Edo period was based almost entirely on this book.
