Bhaṭṭi (English spelling) Bhatti

...In the world of lyric poetry, the most famous poet is Bhartrihari (7th century), who wrote three Shatakas (a collection of one hundred poems), and other poets include the love poet Amar (8th century), Bilhana (11th century), and Jayadeva (12th century). In epic poetry, Bharavi (6th century), Bhatti Bhaṭṭi (7th century), and Magh (8th century) all showed their talent in poetic techniques by drawing on the two great epics of antiquity, and Kalhana (12th century) holds a unique position with his Rajatarangini (1148), which tells the history of the Kashmir royal lineage. In drama, the one who is praised alongside Kalidasa is Bababūti (8th century), who left behind the masterpiece Māratī Madhava and two other works.
