… There are two ways to blend ores (iron ore, nonferrous metal ores, nonmetallic ores, coal, etc.): using an open or covered yard, or using special large containers. Blending in a yard is called yard blending, and the most common method is bed blending. Bed blending involves spreading a large amount of ore (hundreds of thousands of tons or more) in layers in a rectangular or circular yard, and then collecting the beds (triangular or trapezoidal cross-sections formed by the angle of repose) from the edge to homogenize the material. …
