A type of high-grade pigment that is mainly yellow in color, it has a structure in which two tetrachloroisoindolinone groups are linked symmetrically via various aromatic nuclei. Depending on the type of aromatic nucleus, the color ranges from yellow to orange to red, and it has excellent light fastness and heat resistance. A major characteristic is that it does not bleed (bleed) in organic solvents or plastics, so it is used especially as a high-grade pigment for plastics. [Arai Yoshie]
