〘Noun〙 Gold coins minted during the Tenbun era ( 1532-1555 ) by the Takeda clan, who ruled Kai Province (Yamanashi Prefecture), using gold minted from their own mines. They are generally round, but there are exceptions, such as go stone-shaped ones and small rectangular ones. As a territory directly controlled by the shogunate during the Edo period, it continued to have its own currency system, and circulated only in Koshu until around 1826 ( Bunsei 9 ). Koshu. Ko gold.
